Blofeld & Baxter: Rogues on the Road

Saturday 19th November, 7.45pm, King’s School

Blowers and Backers are back again by popular demand!  The two rogues are doing a handful of special Autumn performances after their hit 2016 Spring extension tour, ‘Rogues on the Road’ – crammed full of even more wonderful (and occasionally outrageous) anecdotes from two extensive careers.  We’re delighted that they’ve chosen to bring their tour to the inaugural Gloucester Comedy Festival!

Henry ‘My Dear Old Thing’ Blofeld is one of Britain’s most loved and recognisable broadcasters, while legendary producer of TMS Peter Baxter has been corralling lost passports, misplaced visas, and errant broadcasters for over 34 years.

Bastions of the beloved Test Match Special with over 80 years in the commentary box and touring the world between them, Henry and Peter have some tales to tell. The fun, games and outlandish characters from Ian Fleming to Noel Coward spread well beyond the confines of any cricket ground or studio.

“An hour of laughter… Everybody will leave satisfied” 5 stars (British Theatre Guide)

“The duos antics on the road are rip-roaring… Makes for hilarious viewing” (Evening Standard)

“All that’s missing is the distant knock of leather on willow” 4 stars (Times)

“A show that is not so much about the cricket as about what happens in the commentary box and beyond” (Telegraph)

“Some terrific tales” (Daily Mail)
